Being an Ally

This is an optional training course for Pathfinders. You will: • Learn what it means to be an ally • Overview the terminology • Look at the importance of labels in relation to sexual diversity and gender pluralism • Demystify pronouns • Understand the “coming out” process and transitioning • Discover the realities faced by members of the LGBTQ+ community when combatting discrimination, prejudice and stigma • Learn how to promote the health and well-being of members of the LGBTQ+ community • Consider how to support someone questioning themselves about their identity or sexuality • Find services and resources for people who identify as LGBTQ+ Note that in this course, we will use the abbreviation of the full acronym LBGTQI2SNBA+ and write LGBTQ+. This training course takes about 30 minutes to complete. You will receive a badge in your online account on completion of this training course and a certificate by email.
